Confidentiality Acknowledgement

Before any call and discussion, we ask you to acknowledge the following:

1. Confidential discussion

Human Business Mentor will generally treat information you share during the call or session as confidential, subject to the exceptions set out in section 3 below. This may include information about your business, idea, employment situation, training pathway, study or assessment material, staff, systems, finances, customers, suppliers, complaints, plans or personal circumstances.

You also agree to treat any non-public information shared by Human Business Mentor as confidential, including mentoring notes, templates, business methods, examples, processes or recommendations.

2. Purpose of the discussion

Information shared during the call or session is used only for the purpose of understanding your situation and providing general business mentoring, pathway guidance or practical support. Neither party may use confidential information for another purpose without written permission.

3. What is not confidential

Confidentiality does not apply to information that:

• is already public;
• was already known before the discussion;
• is received lawfully from another source;
• must be disclosed by law, a regulator, court, insurer or professional adviser; or
• relates to a serious risk of harm, unlawful conduct or a safety concern that reasonably requires disclosure.

4. No regulated advice

Human Business Mentor provides general mentoring, career support, communication coaching, leadership development, tutoring, training pathway guidance and practical small-business assistance only. We do not provide:

• legal advice;
• tax or accounting advice, or tax agent services;
• financial product advice;
• migration, visa or sponsorship advice;
• engineering advice;
• health advice;
• safety certification;
• industrial relations advice;
• any other regulated professional advice; or
• guaranteed business, employment, enrolment, training or financial outcomes.

If your matter requires a lawyer, registered tax agent, registered migration agent, licensed financial adviser, training provider, regulator, employer or other specialist, we may suggest that you seek that advice.

5. Notes and records

Human Business Mentor may take notes during or after the call or session to support the mentoring process. Any written summary provided to you is for your personal or business use and should not be treated as formal professional advice in any of the categories listed in section 4 above.

6. Privacy

Personal information collected through booking, calls or sessions will be handled in accordance with Human Business Mentor's Privacy Policy.

7. Duration

The confidentiality obligations described in this acknowledgement continue after the call or session ends.

8. Agreement

By booking or attending a call or session, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Confidentiality Acknowledgement. Where the client is under 18, the parent or legal guardian who makes the booking gives this acknowledgement.
